Danny Charles Floyd, age 70, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his home in Stockbridge, GA after a brief illness. He was born March 17, 1948 in Macon, GA, and was a 1966 graduate of Willingham High School.
After a tour of duty in the Air Force, he retired after 30 years of service with the East Point Georgia Fire Department. Danny had a unique personality and met no strangers. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a devoted Nascar fan and he passed surrounded by the things he loved. His sense of humor brightened the lives of all that knew him, and he will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Savage Floyd, two children, Tammy Floyd Simmons (Eddie) of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Daniel Floyd of Stockbridge, GA, grandsons, Aubrey Paul Pendley, Matthew Bailey Pendley, Cody James Simmons, Robert Allen Simmons, Jackson Wyatt Simmons, sister Elaine Attaway (John), many nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
