

His talents were not limited to one area, working with Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Coroner's Office, Delta Air Lines, and Qualiteq Computers.
A man of God, he brought knowledge and joy to each person he interacted with daily. A lover of music, you could find him listening and mixing on his turntables. If you were lucky, you probably received videos daily to encourage laughter. His family was the center of his life and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. With a heart of gold, he would make time for anyone in need, day or night. He loved spending time on the beach in Destin and looked forward to retiring there.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ricketts; his children, Rickel Ricketts, Adeisia Vaughan, Elexsis Ricketts, Darien Vaughan and Alyvia Vaughan; grandchildren, Shakir Ricketts, Nazier Ricketts, Aria Ricketts, Imani Ricketts, Joziah Ricketts and Divine Wright; siblings, Aubrey James, Richard James, Donovan James, and Samantha Ricketts; in addition to many family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 34 New Life Cathedral IFC | 2550 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur, GA 30034. A celebration of Trooppaa's life will immediately follow visitation. Services will conclude with a graveside committal at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
