

He was born on July 16, 1937 in Atlanta, Georgia to James L. and Mary H. King. He resided in Social Circle, Georgia for the past 30 years. He married Beverly P. of Atlanta, on July 3, 1958, celebrating 65 years of marriage last year. He worked for Midland Brake Company for 28 years before retiring in 2000. He was an incredibly conscientious provider for his family. He was a handyman extraordinaire. There was nothing he could not repair and he had an absolute talent for engineering anything to work easier and faster. He enjoyed woodworking and riding his tractor. He was known for his talent for playing musical instruments by ear and enjoyed playing guitar and singing.
Edwin Leon is survived by his wife, Beverly; his children, Jeff King of Social Circle, DeAnne Davis (Jeff) of Snellville, Angie O’Shields (Kevin) of Charleston, SC and Greg King (Lori) of Statham; grandchildren, Alexandra Davis, Zachary Davis, Allison Jolley, Nathan O'Shields, Jolie King, Jackson King, and Tyler King; great-granddaughter, Mya Taylor; sister Elizabeth Allen (David) of Monroe; and many nephews and nieces as he was one of eight children.
Edwin Leon’s funeral is Friday, February 2, 2024 at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge, Georgia. A viewing begins at 10:00AM for family and friends with a graveside service at 11:00AM.
