Elizabeth Jewell

Elizabeth Jewell was born on August 30, 1937, in Atlanta, Georgia.

She was the 9th child born to Wiley and Florence Humphrey.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wiley Humphrey; mother, Florence Humphrey; siblings, Arthelise Humphrey, Berma Billups, Willie James Humphrey, Ruby Johnson, Wiley Humphrey, Mamie Lee Crowder, Wilson Humphrey and John Humphrey and son, Elgin Eugene Humphrey.

Elizabeth studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout the years and gratefully dedicated her life to Jehovah on February 20, 2010.

She was a loving, albeit firm disciplinarian mother of four girls and two boys. She was very resourceful. Although very poor, her children never went without food, shelter, or clothes. Elizabeth was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family, children and grandchildren.

She was affectionately known as “Jewell” by most. She loved to dress up and refused to leave the house unless she was looking her best.

She leaves behind her daughters, Deborah Franklin (Theodore), Latricia Love-Brooks (Phillip), Wyuca Bradham and LaShawn Sumlin (Arlandus); son, Arthelise Humphrey; eight grandchildren, Raymond Humphrey, TTorre Franklin, LaTiki Joseph, Ernest Grant, Tianitha Frankiln, Tarniecia Sampleton, Diamond Sumlin and Arlandus Sumlin and eleven great-grandchildren, Raymond Humphrey, Jr., Sequioya Humphrey, Jovoreya Grant, Nickohlas Shephard, Carvel Joseph, Daniel Burks, Harmoni Bell, Lauren Grant, Donald Rogers, Autumn Ingraham and London Doby.

She was loved and supported by extended family, Willie Bradham, Reginal Sampleton and Kendall Ingraham.

She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Elizabeth will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in The Heritage Suite at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.

The Celebration of Life for Elizabeth Jewell will occur on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM Eastern (1:00 PM Central) at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses - Stockbridge, 930 Flippen Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, followed by Interment in South-View Cemetery.
