Every time I see their picture I stop and think about how much they did for me and Mark! Not only us, but our whole family. I used to LOVE to hear Aunt Bettie tell stories about growing up and the people they all grew up around. I could always make Uncle Johnny laugh and it made me feel so good to hear it! They called me Sissy Sue. That was a special gift to me. Aunt Bettie gave me invisible flowers one time and Uncle Johnny hung a dead snake in a tree to make it rain and it rained for two days! They were so good to me. They always made me feel like I had a real home no matter what! The four of you were truly blessed to have such a good family! I love you all. Sissy Sue

I am so sorry about Johnny's passing! The Lord knows I wish i could be there with you guys, but my heart has been with you at this time. Johnny was such a GOOD man, and he loved his family! MY DADDY WAS THE BEST. HE LOVED GOD, HIS FAMILY, AND FRIEND'S SO MUCH. HE SERVED HIS COUNTRY. HE BELIEVED A MAN SHOULD BE STRONG. TO LOVE GOD, TO LOVE HIS FAMILY AND BE A GOOD PROVIDER. HE WAS A ROCK OF STRENGH WHEN MOMMA WAS SICK, AND HELPED COMFORT US ALL WHEN SHE PASSED AWAY SEPT. 27, 2010. HE LOST HIS WIFE, HIS LOVE, HIS BEST FRIEND. I UNDERSTOOD HOW HE FELT, AND WE SHARED ALOT AS WE WOULD TALK. I HAD LOST MY FIRST HUSBAND IN 2001. MOMMA AND DADDY WAS BESIDE HELPING AMBER, JOHNATHAN, AND ME THRIUGH THAT HARD TIME. MY PARENT'S WERE NOT ONLY GRANDPARENT'S TO MY KIDS, THEY WERE LIKE PARENT'S TO THEM. MEN LIKE MY DADDY R SO HARD TO FIND. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE TO HELP. TO GIVE WORD'S OF ENCOURAGEMENT- OR TO LET YOU KNOW IF YOU WERE DOING SOMETHING WRONG. I WAS THE FIRST BORN TO MY PARENT'S. THE FIRST TO BE LOVED, HELD, KISSED, OR BE UP WITH ALL NIGHT BECAUSE I WAS SICK. I WAS THE FIRST TO BE CORRECTED- TAUGHT THE RIGHT WAY TO DO THINGS. I MISS MY MOMMA AND DADDY VERY MUCH. I MISS THE SMILES, THE LAUGHTER, THE FUN TIMES- BUT I STILL HAVE THE GREAT MEMORIES, AND I WILL ALWAYS KEEP THEM CLOSE IN MY HEART. I WAS BLESSED BY GOD TO HAVE HAD THE GREATEST PARENT'S IN THE WORLD. THEY LOVED US SO MUCH. I REMEMBER STANDING ON DADDY'S FEET AS HE HELD MY HANDS TIGHTLY AND WE WOULD DANCE AROUND THE ROOM, ME LAUGHTING SO HARD, I REMEMBER MOMMA SINGING AND TELLING THE STORIES OF HER CHILDHOOD. IT IS HARD LOSSING A LOVED ONE. THE ONLY THING THAT EVEN COMES CLOSE TO HELPING WITH THE HURT IS KNOWING THEY R WITH GOD AND NOT HURTING ANY MORE. LIFE WITHOUT MOMMA AND DADDY IS GOING TO BE SO HARD. Paw Paw, I miss you so much. When Nanny passed away, I was there as fast as I could get there. You were the one who took me and held me up so I could say my goodbyes to her. This time I cannot be there. I miss the talks we had, the talks about airplanes and helicopters and our experiences. And of course the military jabs at each another (squid). I love you Paw Paw, and will miss you.

My condolences to all of the Mote family. I know my life is better having gotten to know "Pop" and he will be greatly missed. His legacy lives on through his children and his infectious smile can be seen in each of  you.
