

Homer Christopher Paul age 96, of Ellenwood, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at his home known as “Reverie”. He went by Chris but was better known as “Honey” to his loving family.
Chris was born on December 9,1926 in Jacksonville, Florida. By the age of 16 he was attending Georgia Tech. Chris proudly served in the United States Navy. He became an engineer and was employed by Bell South, Southern Bell and AT&T as a Long-Term Planner. Chris was instrumental in bringing fiber optics from Europe to the United States. He spoke several languages, was a musician and loved boating. He worked on planes and could fly. Chris was one of the founders of Little Mountain Country Club and Golf Course.
Chris and his beautiful wife Coral of 72 years, designed and built their dream home “Reverie” with only a pick, a shovel, lots of prayers and $400 in their pocket. Together they enjoyed dancing, boating, gardening, and fishing. They also shared a love for the water-whether it was the beach or the lake.
Chris is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Coral Margaret Peters Paul; his parents, Julian Christopher Paul and Laura Virginia Humphries Poli; stepmother, Dorothy Elliott Paul; and sister, Virginia Paul Bastedo. He is survived by his daughters; Patricia Bernstein (David), Paula Cook (Jim), Pamela Mims (David), Priscilla Giella (Steve); siblings, Joe Paul, Nancy Miller, Christine Hurst; nephews, Stephen Bastedo and Michael Bastedo; grandchildren, Jeffrey DiGanci (Lori) - first born grandchild, talked to “Honey” every day. Christopher DiGanci (Nikki) - had a very special relationship with “Honey”. Lauren Simpson (Kevin) – “Honey’s” STAR. Tyler Cook (Danielle), Jason Mims, Jessica Doyle (Shawn), Jarrett Mims (Ashley), Jake Mims, Kyle Giella (Julianne), Brandon Giella (Kristi), Zach Giella (Maggie), Conner Giella; and 22 great-grandchildren.
