

Ret. Major Howard F. Miller, 87, of Decatur, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Emory Midtown Hospital. He was born, 1926, in Gastonville, PA to Albert and Margaret (Phillips) Miller.
Major Miller was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, and retired from active duty from the US Army after 20 years of service to his country. He also retired after 32 years with the Civil Service. He was active in the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra where he played second violin. He was also faithfully involved with the Cove Bible Advance Ministries.
He was preceded in death by his son Howard F. Miller, Jr. and is survived by his wife, Lois, children: Kenneth T. (son) & Susan W. Miller of Tucker, GA , Chris Miller (daughter) of Conyers, GA, Bonnie Westfall (daughter) of Derby, KS, & David B. & Amy (daughter) Disharoon of Loganville, GA, grandchildren: Howard F. III (grandson) & Kim Miller, Roderick (grandson) & Toni Miller, Jody (grandson) & Suzanne Miller, Shawn Westfall, Daniel Westfall, Heather Westfall, Bryan (grandson) & Theresa Westfall, Diana Miller, Senior Airman Kenneth Miller, Jr., USAF, David B. (grandson) & Kelly Disharoon, Jr, and Katherine Disharoon, great-grandchildren: Kolby Miller, Jennifer Miller, Aubrey Jo Miller, Mariah Miller, Keaton Miller, Emily Miller, Miles Miller, Hailie Miller, Lexie Miller, Caleigh Westfall, Collin Westfall, Adian Westfall, Samuel Miller, Drew Miller, Jordan Miller and other family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18th at Horis A. Ward, Fairview Memorial Chapel, Stockbridge, GA. Pastor Richard Davis will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17th & 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18th. Burial will follow at College Park Memorial Park, College Park, GA.
