

Jack was born in Bryan, OH on December 18, 1946. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack C. Baxter, Sr. and Patricia Mae (nee) Hutchinson, and three brothers, William, George, and Timothy. He is survived by his wife Teresa (nee) McMichen Baxter, daughter Michelle D. Baxter, goddaughter Shadie Stewart, granddaughter Kealey Stewart, three sisters Leanne McGann, Nancy Turner, and Nancy Johns, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Right after high school, Jack joined the Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam. After being discharged from the Marines, Jack became a self-taught ASE Master Technician. He opened S & J Automotive, Inc., an independent repair shop that specializes in SAAB. He remained President of S & J until his death. Jack was known for his love of racing and anything SAAB. He was active in SCCA, The SAAB Club of North America, and later in life rediscovered a love of gardening.
Jack was a mentor and inspiration to many. He was always encouraging people to learn and to not accept limitations. Although he may be gone here on Earth, his legacy and his presence will live on in our hearts.
Please join the family in honoring his memory at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Rd. Stockbridge, GA 30281. Visitation will be on Friday, July 16 from 4PM-7PM. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 17 at 1PM immediately followed by interment at the adjoining Memorial Gardens.
