Dear Cousin Bill and Family,  It was a very sad day to hear that you lost the love of your life.  You know that I only spent a very short amount of time with Joan in her lifetime, on the cruise and on my few visits to GA and to your lovely home; but my heart goes out to you because she left a lasting impression on me.  Joan was an absolute joy to be around, always, and it is no doubt you found so much happiness with her as your wife.   

Her graciousness, and love and outstanding sense of humor was magnetic and drew everyone nearer when she was around.  She was, like her gardinias, the essense of love, beauty and life.

Bill and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing.  We went to school together and then after graduation we lost touch with each other until years later when we met up again while working at AT&T.  It was great renewing old friendships.  We had lunch together many days and Joan could always make me laugh and those around her too.  I was able to share her grief when she lost her daughter and let her know I loved her and cared for her.  Then when we both left AT&T, again we lost touch except running into each other now and again while shopping.  I will always cherish the time we had as friends and will always remember that pretty face and smile that she so willingly gave to everyone.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, I know that she loved everyone of you so much.
