Steve was born on February 14, 1945 and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He to Atlanta, Georgia in the 70’s to work for the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. He worked for the Atlanta-Journal Constitution as a pressman for over 30 years, retiring in 2009.
He was a member of Brushy Knob Baptist Church.
He was a loving husband to Diane for 42 years; father to James and Jon; brother to Beverly Mitchem (Robert), Linda Moore (Ronnie) and Duane West (Bettye) who predeceased him and brother-in-law to Cathy Edwards. He had many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Steve will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281 with funeral services beginning at 12:00 Noon. Burial will immediately follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
