She was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina at the US Navy Hospital on December 29th, 1952, to Otis Keith and Betty Lou Dantzler. Diann graduated from Towers High School in 1970 in Decatur, Georgia. She was a nurse technician at Gwinnett Medical Center and Joan Glancy Hospital for several years.
Diann loved spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, listening to music and dancing. She created a beautiful home perfect for her growing family and all her furbabies. She was married to Jeffrey Matthews for 22 years, and together, built a beautiful life filled with unconditional love and lots of laughter. Diann was a big Georgia Bulldogs fan who enjoyed watching the games with her daughters. Diann had such a loving heart and will be missed by many.
Diann was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Lou Dantzler, brother, Keith Dantzler, grandmother, Sally Carrie Jowers (Dantzler) and daughter, Kristy Lynn Keye.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jeffrey Matthews; father, Otis Dantzler; brother, Kerry Dantzler (Carol); daughters, Katherine Skinner (Ray), and Jacqueline Music (Brian); three granddaughters, Lexie Hudson (Nick), Tori Tapley, and Heaven Sizemore; four great-grandchildren; aunt, Lorene Harmon; as well as a niece and nephew, and many other family members and friends.
We welcome family and friends to attend a celebration of Diann's life on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, at Horis A. Ward – Fairview Chapel, located at 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia, 30281. Visitation hours will be open from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Services will begin in the chapel at 1:00 pm, with the burial service to follow.
