Mildred was a Christian of unwavering faith. She was born to parents, William Emory Nash and Maggie Griffen Nash in Atlanta, Georgia on February 2, 1925 and was raised in Atlanta. At age 18, she married Frank Brown, who is now deceased. While Frank was serving in the Army overseas, she worked at an airplane factory in California, building bombers for WWII.
After the war, she and her first husband, Frank Brown, settled in Decatur, Georgia and raised two children.
She was a long time member and Sunday school teach at 2nd Avenue Baptist Church. This church and many of the members were a big part of her life for many years. She was an accomplished beautician and owned and operated a beauty salon for many years in Decatur. This shop was a business, as well as, social gathering place. Mildred's love and generosity for others was enormous. She helped out untold numbers of friends and relatives in many ways.
On Valentine's Day in 1986, she married Bud McGiboney, now deceased, and they had many years traveling to Europe, and all over the United States, going to ship reunions.
Mildred, called Nana Bo by many of the grandchildren, is survived by her son, Ronald Brown (Susan); daughter, Gayle Ginn; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was one of the kindest people who ever lived and will be missed by many.
