Chambers, Milton Chester
November 23, 1946 - August 27, 2024
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Milton C. “Pa” Chambers, of Stockbridge, Georgia, on August 27th, 2024, at the age of 77 years.
Born at home in Jonesboro, Georgia to his late parents Essie (née Allen) and Roy L. Chambers, Milt was one of six siblings in a loving home. After graduating from Jonesboro High School, Milt joined the Army National Guard. In 1966, he attended electrician school, and in the mid 1970s Milt joined the SyncroFlo team in Norcross, where he remained until his retirement in 2007.
Milt met the love of his life, the late Mary Louise Chambers (née Barrow), and the two married in the summer of 1976. He inherited his bonus daughters Sharon, Kathy, Debbie, Melody, and Gale, and he loved them and their families with his whole heart. A devout Christian, Milt had a heart for service and enjoyed cleaning his local church.
His grandchildren remember Pa’s love of animals - dogs were a particular favorite; music - the best family gatherings were graced with Pa’s rich bass voice and guitar, banjo, and piano skills; and crochet - so many great-grandchildren have been blessed with his blankets. His great-grandchildren loved Pa’s chocolate chip cookies and playing games with him.
Milt leaves behind his bonus children Jimmy Roddy, Kathy (Billy) Dixon, Deborah (Darrell) Bruce, Melody (William B.) McKenzie, and Gale (Edward) Knox; eleven grandchildren; over two dozen great- and great-great-grandchildren; siblings Jenny Chambers, Rebecca (Bob) Huie, Nancy Carol Neisert, James Earl (Esther) Chambers, Sandra (Tom) McBerry and numerous nieces and nephews.
Milt was preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise Chambers, bonus daughter Sharon Roddy, and brother Alonzo “Buck” Paul Chambers.
