August 23, 1975 –July 5, 2025
Reginald “Reggie” Fitzgerald Pittman was born on August 23, 1975, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to Lois Mae Pittman. In 1976, when Reggie was just eight months old, he and his mother moved to Pontiac, Michigan, to begin a new chapter together.
From an early age, Reggie was raised with strong values and a deep love for family—principles that would shape the course of his life. He received his early education in the Pontiac School System, where he spent eight formative years. Energetic and athletic, Reggie loved playing baseball and football, and he especially excelled in martial arts, becoming a fierce and focused competitor in local tournaments.
Reggie’s life was enriched by his parents, Lois and Derrick Moss, who played a vital role in helping Reggie understand trust, honor, and responsibility. Through their guidance, Reggie developed strength, character, and a deep appreciation for what it truly meant to be a family.
After completing seventh grade, Reggie and his parents relocated to Georgia, settling in Norcross. He attended Sweet Water Creek Middle School before the family moved again to Lithonia. There, Reggie enrolled at Lithonia High School before transferring to Tucker High School, where he played football for three years and graduated in 1993.
Reggie continued his education at Georgia Southern University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Computer Information Systems. His love for learning and growth later led him to Strayer University, where he earned a Master of Science in Information Security Management. Reggie’s curious mind, strong work ethic, and goal-driven spirit guided his educational path and professional journey.
Reggie built a successful and respected career in information technology. From 2001 to 2008, he worked at Nielsen as a LAN Administrator and desktop support specialist. He then joined the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, where he served as Systems Administrator until 2014. Most recently, Reggie worked at EmeraldX in the same capacity. Throughout his career, he continuously expanded his knowledge and embraced new responsibilities. His work was not only a source of pride but a reflection of his dedication and integrity.
Outside of work, Reggie embraced life to the fullest. He had a passion for travel, especially cruises, and was a devoted movie lover with an appreciation for everything from acclaimed classics to feel-good favorites. With a competitive edge, Reggie enjoyed playing games with family and friends and was a loyal Detroit Lions fan, faithfully cheering them on through every season, no matter the outcome. In recent years, he discovered a sense of peace and tranquility in fishing, a hobby that brought him calm and joy.
But nothing compared to the joy Reggie found in fatherhood. On July 1, 2005, he welcomed his daughter, Ramaya Pittman, into the world. From that moment on, she became the center of his universe. Reggie was her biggest supporter—present at every swim meet, cheering her on, investing in her passions, and celebrating her every achievement. Ramaya was his pride and the light of his life.
Reggie’s love for his family ran deep. He is survived by his devoted mother, Lois Pittman Moss, and stepfather, Derrick Moss, both of Stockbridge, Georgia; his sisters, Danielle Moss of Rex, Georgia, and Demia Moss of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; his beloved daughter, Ramaya Pittman of Snellville, Georgia, and John Price of Texas. He is also remembered with love by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and colleagues.
Reggie’s life was a testament to quiet strength, resilience, humility, and kindness. He will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, and generous heart. Whether fixing a computer, helping a loved one, or simply being a steady presence, Reggie always showed up with grace, compassion, and a spirit of care.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
