Samuel Lee Majors "Sam", born Dec. 30, 1950, at the age of 67, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a brief illness on the last day of the year, Dec 31, 2017. Sam was retired after 17 years of employment with Shaw Associates Construction Company. He attended Fairmount Elementary School in Canton, Ohio where he was a member of the basketball team. He graduated from Canton McKinley High
School and attended the University of Hawaii.
He enjoyed travelling and attended numerous sports memorabilia shows throughout the U.S. Trading things like baseball cards, boxing gloves and posters seemed to be his way of keeping in touch with people throughout his life. Sam's kind heart and generosity did not go unnoticed. He impacted others by volunteering at a home for underprivileged children in Texas, a homeless shelter in Atlanta and translating documents for Hispanic workers while on the job. Although Sam was a quiet individual, anyone who spoke with him quickly realized his unique intelligence and sense of humor.
Most of all, Sam faithfully loved his family, and expressed it in his own way. Whether it was through a small gift or by making his signature rice crispy treats, his love was always felt. We will miss him.
Sam is survived by sisters, Linda Longwell, Joan Warren(Mike), Darcia Young (Scott), Dara Treadwell (David), brother Ron Majors ( Jeanette), and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother (Dee Kosunick) and two sisters (Sonia Brandon) and (Donna Sloan).
