

Mr. Sydney Augustus Graham, son of the late Wilfred Hall and Irene Hall. Sydney was born October 27, 1932 in Mavis Bank, St. Andrew, Jamaica W.I. where he attended Mount Fletcher All Age School in Mavis Bank.
Sydney relocated to the U.S. in 1952 as a farmworker. He was united in holy matrimony to Gloria Graham in the 60s. This union was blessed with 3 girls and soon after Gloria’s two sons were adopted by Sydney. Sydney and Gloria made a home in Poughkeepsie, NY in the 60s where they started their lives with their children. He was a giant of a man standing 6 ft 2inches tall with a gentle generous heart. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved and respected by many. Wherever he went, he would always have a lecture full of wisdom to dispel to whoever would listen. After many years in New York, Gloria became ill and left Sydney a widower in December 8th, 1999.
He decided to relocate to Florida, and then to Georgia where he fell in love and married Joycelyn “Cookie” Graham on June 26th, 2007. They built a wonderful life together settling in Stockbridge, Georgia where they were blessed with the birth of their son Daniel February 28th, 2008. Sydney’s influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He quietly departed this life Monday, June 24, 2019 at home, in Stockbridge.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 5-8 p.m., and Saturday, July 13th from 10-11 a.m. at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281, where funeral service will be begin at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, GA.
