

Tim Hancock age 55 of Stockbridge passed away October 8, 2012. Tim was born on September 1, 1957 in Coral Gables, Florida, to Harold Raymond Hancock and Patricia Ann Hancock. He received his degree in Journalism from Georgia State University and started his career with The Federal Aviation Administration in 1984. Starting as an Air Traffic Controller, he soon volunteered to become part of an IT projects team. He worked on a variety of projects over the next 3 decades, culminating in his position as ATCS, ERAM Operations Integration Lead. Tim traveled widely and was an avid photographer and videographer, and won numerous awards for his work. He had recently moved to Saint Simon’s Island, GA where he was refurbishing a home in the village. Tim was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived and missed dearly by his father Harold Hancock and siblings and their spouses: Kathy and Rob Scogin, Kevin and Julie Hancock, Karen Patrick and Tanya Johnson. Beloved nieces and nephews are Jeffrey, Amanda, Christopher, Emily, Juan, Darcy, Curran, Michael, Ryan, Jacob and Brittney. Tim also leaves behind his loving extended family of Charlotte and Jim Smith; Troy and Lisa Smith, sons Brent and Austin; Tyler and Tamara Smith, and children Kristen and Trevor; Gwenna and Tony Egart, and children Kyle, Amber and Conner; Mandy Poore and her children McKenzie, Harrison and Marissa, and his beloved dog Brandy. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Friday October 12, 2012 at 11:00 am in St. James the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Chito Palang officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday October 11, 2012 from 6-8 pm.
