He was the third child of six children born to his parents and the second of three sons. Trevor
grew up with his parents and siblings until the death of his father which occurred when he was
only five years old. He was later raised by his mother and grandparents who were devout
Christians.
Trevor received basic education at Thompson Town School. After completing his basic
education, Trevor pursued vocational training in masonry. He learned the art of masonry with
skill and proficiency and became well known for his excellent work as a builder; as such, he
was sought after. Outside of his profession as a mason, Trevor developed interest in
photography as a hobby.
As a young man, Trevor envisioned a bright future. As was customary for young people at that
time, Trevor had plans to migrate to England in pursuit of his dreams. However, his plans were
subsequently changed when he met and fell in love with Rose Atkinson, a beautiful lady who
became the love of his life. He later married Rose and inherited three stepdaughters: Beverly,
Valerie, and Novelette whom he loved and cared for as his own daughters. Trevor subsequently
fathered four biological children from his marriage to Rose namely; Donna, Andrea, Everton
and Nadine. Trevor is remembered as a good father who loved his children dearly. He desired
the best for his children and inspired them to achieve their best. Trevor is remembered also as
an excellent provider and one who was devoted to his family.
Trevor Brown spent most of his life residing in Blackwood, the district in which he was born.
He would later travel to Grand Cayman in pursuit of career opportunities and subsequently
to the United States of America. Trevor traveled several times to the United States to visit with
family and later pursued US citizenship. In 2015, Trevor decided to return to Jamaica
indefinitely. On December 26, 2016, however, Trevor returned to the United States for medical
care after experiencing months of illness that progressed rapidly to terminal state. Trevor never
regretted his decision to return to the United States, because it was here that he received
unsurpassed compassionate, and loving care which was administered by his daughter Andrea.
Trevor Brown died peacefully on January 10, 2017 at his daughter’s residence. He was
preceded in death by his wife Rose and his son Everton. He is survived by 2 sisters, 1
