

Anthony (Tony) Joseph Marks, affectionally called “Itty”, was born December 23, 1950, in Crowley, Louisiana to proud parents Alfred Joseph Marks and Mabel Mathews Marks. Tony was baptized at an early age at West Tabernacle Church in Crowley. He attended schools in Beaumont Texas and graduated from Hebert High School in 1968. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Richmond, California, where his 45 plus years sales career began at Kinney's Shoe Store. It came to an end with retirement after 30 years from the California State Lottery.
Some of his favorite pastimes were cooking, interior design, collecting antiques, gardening, jazz concerts, going to the casino and enjoying the racetrack. He transitioned from this life on January 17, 2024, surrounded by his daughters, Tanisha Marks and Nikita Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Mable Marks, sister Norma Jean Lee, and most recently niece, Stephanie Marks-Semien.
Tony (Itty) is survived by his daughters, Tanisha Marks of Antioch, California, Nikita Hughes of Brentwood, California and supported by his former wife, Nedra Marks of Martinez, California. He leaves behind beloved sisters, Joan Marks Alfred of Beaumont, Texas, Jocelyn Marks of Beaumont, Texas, Hortense Gordon of Beaumont, Texas, Daisy (Lamar) Leonard of Vacaville, California, and brother Christopher Marks of Beaumont Texas along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A viewing will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 3-7pm at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 1pm at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel.
