Caroline and I spent nearly twelve years together teaching in the same classroom. We spent many hours together outside of the classroom and I literally treasure every hour. My youngest daughter's middle name is Michelle because Caroline's Michelle has always been so special like her Mom. Caroline and I eventually lived in the same neighborhood and the only phone number I memorized when I moved to the high desert was Caroline's. 
I only hope that I can spread some light to others, plant at least a few fruitful seeds of faith, and show more generosity to others in her memory. She was so good at all these things.... She modeled unconditional love like no other person I have ever met. Those who knew her have been richly blessed. Thank you God for letting me share life with her, our students, and her family.

Mr. and Mrs. Ott (aka Moms and Pops) and Bonnie Ott-Thompson would like to extend our deepest and heartfelt thoughts and prayers to friends and family of dear Mama Lopez. Always warm, friendly and willing to help anyone, she was an inspiration to many young men and women that were members of the Commodores. Appreciated and well liked by other parents and helpers, she was sweet and generous. She gave me my first bowl of menudo...waited until I tasted it before telling me what was in it! Delicious! She will be missed, but her memories will live on in those she touched.

Mama Lopez, you will be greatly missed....your beautiful personality and smile is how I will always remember you. I looked up to you as a parental role model while I was in the Commodores and you were "our" mama while traveling on the road. God took another angel home to heaven....love you and the family.......
