Daniel Rodriguez Magallanez was born on March 28, 1927, in Zacatecas, Mexico. He moved to the United States in the 1940s and later settled in Stockton where he married Jessie Banda in 1949. Daniel worked many years for Stockton Brick & Tile Company and then at American Molding & Lumber for nearly 20 years. He had an impeccable work ethic and rarely, if ever, missed a day of work! He enjoyed reading books, being outdoors in his yard, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved seeing his family all together and looked forward to family gatherings. Danny had a sense of humor and often enjoyed teasing those he loved, but his laughter was always with love. His embrace of technology was remarkable for someone of his generation; he enjoyed playing games on his computer, reading the news online and would often FaceTime with his granddaughters who live out of town. He enjoyed telling stories from the past and staying up-to-date with politics and current affairs. He made many friends at the community center where he regularly visited. Daniel passed away on July 6, 2017 at the age of 90 with his dog by his side. He will be remembered for his love of life and his family and will be dearly missed. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Patricia, his brothers Elias and Aucensio, and his wife Jessie Banda Magallanez. He is survived by his brothers Ruben Magallanez, Jose Magallanez, and Adislado Magallanez, and his sisters Consuelo Magallanes Rodriguez, Celia Magallanes Rodriguez Luna, and Maria Magallanes Rodriguez Luna. Daniel is also survived by his children Patricia Dalesandro, Rebecca Muller (spouse Michael Sr.), Peter Magallanez (spouse Tami), and Abraham Magallanez (spouse Silvia); his grandchildren: Jessica Mindnich (spouse Chris), Michelle Overmeyer (spouse Kurt), Julie Muzio (spouse Dave), Maia Aguirre (spouse Robert), Michael Muller Jr. (spouse Stacy), Phylicia Magallanez, Kurtis Magallanez, Paul Magallanez, and John Magallanez; and 10 great-grandchildren: Daniel Muller, Alyssa Muller, Alex Mindnich, Natalie Aguirre, Austin Overmeyer, Emma Mindnich, Aidan Aguirre, Ryan Aguirre, Valentino Hernandez, and Nathaniel Aguirre. To honor his wishes, there will be no public viewing or funeral service. A Rosary will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 at 6pm at De Young Memorial Chapel at 601 N. California Street. A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Saturday, July 15, 2017.
