Daphney Rebecca Williams was born September 3, 1943 to the union of Nathaniel and Kathryn Brown in Columbia, MS.
Daphney attended Marion County Training School and John J. Jefferson High School where she earned her High School diploma in 1962. Shortly thereafter she married and began her family and relocated to Stockton, California and there she began her career with Stockton Unified School District. After 25 years of dedicated service to SUSD she retired.
Daphney accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Progressive Community Church. She was involved in many ministries such as the Usher Board, Small Groups, Prime Timers, Culinary Ministry, prayer groups and bible studies which she so enjoyed and served until her passing.
Daphney loved her family; she enjoyed family outings, family trips, playing cards and her most enjoyable time was watching sports and mainly the Dallas Cowboys. She loved cooking and was well known for her banana pudding.
During the union of her marriage, five children were born; Gregory Craft, Kathy Johnson, John Craft Jr., Rhonda Johnson and LaShaunda Craft.
Daphney is preceded in death by Nathaniel and Kathryn Brown (parents) and Georgia Abram Luter (sister).
Daphney departed this life on Monday, October 31, 2016 in Stockton, CA surrounded by her family and loved ones. Daphney leaves to cherish her memories 1 sister Cynthia Williams (Bobby) of Silver Creek, MS, 2 sons Gregory Craft of Stockton, CA; John Craft Jr. of Ione, CA; 3 daughters Kathy Johnson(Larry), Rhonda Johnson and LaShaunda Craft all of Stockton, CA. Daphney also leaves to cherish her memories 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
