David was a lifelong resident of Stockton. He was born to Pamela and Mike Byrne and raised alongside his sister, Kimberly. As a young adult, David held a variety of jobs, including working at Mr. D’s Pizza and American Savings in his early twenties. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him to a successful career as the owner and operator of a landscape and pool maintenance business.
Over the past 35 years, David worked tirelessly to build a respected business that supported his growing family. Known for his strong work ethic, David was dependable and dedicated— showing up rain or shine, heat or cold, and even while enduring rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
From a young age, David loved to hunt and fish. He and his wife, Leslie, spent many weekends out on the Delta in their bass boat, catching black bass and enjoying the growing collection of fishing poles and lures David proudly accumulated.
Above all, David was a devoted husband and father. His greatest pride and purpose in life was caring for his family, and he worked steadfastly to provide, protect, and support his wife and children. He showed his devotion not only through words, but through a lifetime of hard work, presence, and quiet strength.
To his family and friends, David was hardworking, motivated, kind, loving, wise, and unintentionally humorous. His presence, generosity, and perseverance left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
David is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Leslie Byrne; his children, Michael Byrne (Layney) and Megan Jardine (Trevor); his cherished grandchildren, Weston, Bennett, and Ada; his sister, Kimberly Turner (Peter); and his stepmother, Sandy Byrne. He is also survived by his in-laws, nieces, and nephews, all of whom he held dear. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Pamela Byrne.
David’s family will host a private celebration of life to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Hospice of San Joaquin. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
