

Edward Gordon Martin passed away on October 29, 2017 in Stockton, CA at the age of 65. Ed, was born on February 17, 1952 in Boston, Massachusetts to Cear and Weltha Martin. He graduated from Manual Arts in 1969. After graduating from high school, Ed enlisted in the United States Navy until he was honorably discharged in 1973. He continued his career with the Department of Defense as an Employee Relations Specialist Supervisor until his retirement in 2000. During that time, he obtained several awards and certifications in his profession. After his retirement, Ed made Stockton, California, his home. In Stockton, Ed worked as a Mediator for the San Joaquin County. His most recent employment was with Mike's Towing Service, where he provided almost 10 years of service as Lead Battery Service Technician. He truly enjoyed working with his team at Mike's. From his marriages Ed produced three children. He survived by, Dominique Martin-Hinton, spouse Ron Hinton from Los Angeles, California, Darreon Martin, spouse Keyla Martin from Las Vegas, and Rayana Martin from Stockton; siblings, Micheal Martin of Las Vegas, and Jerry Bell of Las Vegas. He is preceded in death by both his parents, and two siblings, William "Billy" Basie, of Compton, California, and Cyr "Ducky" Parnell, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Ed is known for his great since of humor, style, and for his loyalty among friends. When Ed was not working, he devoted spending time with his youngest daughter, Rayana Martin. They enjoyed frequenting their favorite dining spots around Stockton and shopping together. Ed was well loved by all and will truly be missed by friends and family. His children remember him as a fun loving father who enjoyed spending time with them and encouraged them to pursue their goals. He also leaves to cherish his memory four grandsons, Elijah Spencer, Darreon Martin II, Enoch Hinton and Kayden Martin. In addition he leaves a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
