Gerald “Jerry” Short died on Saturday October 12th to his very long battle with brain cancer. Jerry was an amazing father, husband, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife Judy, two daughters Kimberly and Nena, 2 grandsons Brandon and Angel, his sister Sheila and brother Robert. Jerry was a Vietnam Veteran in the US Navy from March 21, 1968 through January 28, 1971 and was proud to have served his country. Jerry spent his younger years working on and racing cars. He raced at 99-Speed Way in the late 70’s and then again the late 80’s to early 90’s. His passion in life was his family and he took great pride in being able to provide for them. Jerry worked in the food industry for Port Stockton foods for over 20 years and at Silgan Containers for a little over 10 years. Jerry will be truly missed but never forgotten!! His family will be holding a celebration of life on Sunday, October 27th at the Ed Stewart Post #803 at 3110 West Lane in Stockton. It will be from 12:00-6:00pm. There will be a 21-gun salute to honor Jerry’s service in the military at 1pm.
