Born in Tempe, AZ on December 23, 1928, she was the loving daughter of the late Alejandro and Mercedes Arredondo of Mexico. Her beloved siblings are the late Emilio, Hondy, Mike, and Aida.
Sadly, when Gloria was 3 years old her mother died during childbirth. After some time, her father remarried and that union produced 6 sons. They became a blended, hardworking family of 13!
In 1944, Gloria married Rosalio Salazar Sr. of Madera, CA. They were blessed with their dear children; Rosalio Jr., Stella, Olivia, Dora, Millie, Michael, and Alejandro Sr. At 8 months old they began raising their grandson Alejandro Jr. until adulthood. During Gloria's illness, Alejandro Jr. and his fiancé, Shadya Lydia Guyton, became her primary caregivers tending to her every need until her passing.
Gloria was fun and loving. She enjoyed family gatherings, casinos, dancing, and music. Elvis and Vicente Fernandez were her favorites.
She is survived by her daughters Stella and Olivia as well as Alex Jr. and numerous grandchildren, family, and friends.
Gloria was a devout Catholic, prayer warrior, and a woman of faith which sustained her during the deaths of her husband and 5 children. Her parting words were always, "God be with you." Now we say to our sweet Gloria, rest in paradise and "God be with you."
