On Nov 25th, 2017, the Lord called for our Mom, Isabel R. Platt. Isabel R. Platt was born to Ysidro and Encarnacion Raya on Jan 14, 1931 in Clovis, California. She came from a very large family of 5 brothers and 5 sisters. In 1956, she met and married her husband of 56 years, John C. Platt. Together, they raised a family of 5 sons in Stockton, California. Her husband and one son, Jose Richard Perez, preceded her in death. Each of her other four sons, “Mom’s Boys Forever” - Robert (Gloria) Perez, Rudy Perez, Johnny(Aurora) Platt and Larry (Roxanne) Platt - remained lovingly devoted to her throughout her life and miss her greatly. Isabel battled many ups and downs with her health, but, through determined perseverance, she managed to live to the age of 86. With equal determination, she taught all of her “boys” how to be independent and to be able to take care of themselves. Though she herself had little formal education, she made sure that all of her sons got one. She was a homemaker by trade, loved to fish with our Dad, go for short walks and periodically stopped to visit friends. Isabel was always up for a good fight, never ready to back down even when she knew she could not win. Her silence did not mean she gave up. She was consistently determined to get what she wanted. To everyone’s amazement, when she wanted something, she would always find a way to get it – NEVER BACKING DOWN! Isabel passed her strong willed focus and ability to achieve desired results to all of her sons. As time passed and she needed more support, each remained lovingly committed to her care and comfort - NEVER BACKING DOWN! In addition to her husband and son, Isabel was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings Salvador, Lilly, Augustine, Linda, Rosie and Frank; and several grandchildren. In addition to her four “boys” and their families, Isabel, leaves behind 3 surviving siblings: Andrew, Angelo and Hortencia; several grandchildren (Jose, Tina, Solie, April, Richard, Amber, Alicia, Michael, Andrea and Olivia, plus 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. In the words of her “boys”, “Mom, we will miss you forever. We will see you again soon. For now, you are in our everlasting memories, never to be forgotten.” Special thanks to all her family and friends who helped care for her. A very special “thank you” to Gloria Perez and Sandra Martinez, her primary caregivers.
