Janis J. Sanchez passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, January 11, 2019. She was born January 7, 1930, in Waterloo, Iowa to Clyde and Lucille Abel. Janis was employed by Stockton State Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician for 23 years and by the Department of Corrections as an LVN/MTA for 10 years.
Janis is preceded in death by Joseph, her loving husband of 64 years. She is survived by daughters Jennifer Melera and husband Richard, Claudia Gilbreath and husband Belton, Janis Keller and husband Karl, grandchildren Michael and Crystal Melera, Keith Gilbreath and wife Shannon and great grandchildren Austin, Rylan and Allie Gilbreath.
Visitation from 10:00-2:00pm on Tuesday January 22, 2019 at De Young Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St. Stockton, CA. Graveside services at Stockton Rural Cemetery at 2:30pm.
