

Joseph "Joe" Ruben Ramirez passed peacefully June 23, 2017 in Stockton, CA at the age of 54. Joe is survived by his parents Joe and Bertha Ramirez; children Jazmin Lomeli Ramirez, Joseph Daniel Ramirez; wife Alisia Ramirez; stepchildren Michael Guardado, Monica Meneses; grandchildren Edward, Elijah, and Abel Banales; siblings Victor (Maria) Ramirez, Carlos Ramirez, Michael Ramirez, Steven (Mayra) Ramirez, and Diana (Julio) Hernandez. He loved his dogs, Bruce Wayne Lee and his Nova girl. He has 7 nieces and nephews; numerous God children, the most recent Mario and Antonio Melchor. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Lola Ramirez, and Ruben and Celia Acosta. Joe was born on April 5, 1963 in French Camp, CA. He attended Edison High School and worked at Delta Market where he started his career as a grocer. In 1984, he then became a grocer for the first Food 4 Less grocery store in Stockton, CA. He also took part in opening the Rancho San Miguel franchise. He was an active member at the Cathedral of the Annunciation. Joe's memory lives on through his children as hard working, devoted, loyal, generous, funny, and loving father. He enjoyed going to the movies with his kids and watching his VHS/DVD collection of Clint Eastwood, Quintin Tarantino, and Bruce Lee movies at home. Every evening he looked forward to walking his dog Nova and socializing with his neighborhood friends, many of whom he grew up with. He was a faithful Miami Dolphins fan, and known to many as Batman. His family can still hear him quoting and saying "I am Batman." A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 11 am to 6 pm followed by a Rosary at DeYoung Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10 am at St. Linus Catholic Church followed by a committal at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery. Published in The Record on July 2, 2017
