Biografía

Kim Trương was born in Bạc Liêu, Việt Nam, the oldest daughter of a family of 6. While her parents were away working, she would be left in charge to care for her brothers. Eventually she married, at 18, Binh Quach. She gave birth to 8 wonderful children, who she raised while singlehandedly successfully managing the family's ice cream factory.

As war tore the country, she left with her family to search for a better life. Fleeing soldiers and escaping pirates, she finally made it to the United States with her husband, children, and mother-in-law in 1980. Being a strong mother and supportive wife, she would often work 2 or 3 jobs to support the family of 10. After moving around the country for a couple years, her family finally settled in Stockton, California, in 1986. As her family grew, with her grandchildren born first in 1989, then in 1990 and in 1991, she happily decided to become a homemaker.

After many happy years, and many more grandchildren, she fell ill with her first stroke. Kim was a fighter. With her thoughts on her family and grandchildren, she was able to regain mobility and live a semi-normal life. In 2012, she had another stroke but was not able to recover as she once had. Yet she stayed positive and hopeful.

She was able to see all of her children married and hug all 17 grandchildren. She passed peacefully surrounded by family at St. Joseph Hospital.
