

Linda Chavier gained her wings on Monday August 12, 2024, at age 70. She was born on March 19, 1954, in Stockton, California to Naomi Keith and Billy Johnston. She graduated from Stagg High School in 1972 and attended Delta College where she met her husband, Kevin Chavier and were married October 24, 1976. She went on to work at various places in Stockton until the birth of her children when she decided to open her home as a daycare center where she became a second mom to many children, including the neighborhood kids of Holiday Park. After her children began going to school, she started her most notable position as a Manager of Pacific Check Cashing where she gained lifetime friendships and became friends with everyone in Stockton.
Linda had a zest for life and was known for lighting a room with her presence, memorable smile, and contagious laugh. She was witty, had a sharp tongue and an even sharper mind. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, sharing her love for new restaurants with her dear friends and family, sneaking off to casinos, escaping to the ocean, especially Monterey Bay and cooking family dinners, specifically her famous spaghetti and lasagna, her son’s favorite.
She is preceded in death by her father Billy Johnston.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Chavier, her children, Brett Chavier of Stockton, Jeannie Chavier (Anthony Gilmore) of Sacramento, her grandchildren, Ashley Chavier of Stockton, Manuel (Manny) Chavier and Anthony Chavier-Gilmore of Sacramento, Mother Naomi Cassidy, and stepfather Tim Cassidy of Stockton. Siblings Debbie Johnston and Mike Cassidy of Stockton, Billy Johnston of Australia. Sister-in-law Karen Spooner (Chester) of Antioch, nieces Debbie Spooner of Las Vegas, Cindy Sanders of Brentwood, Pam Pearson of San Ramon and nephews Eric Davis and Brian Cassidy of Stockton and many cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
All are welcome to celebrate the life of our dear Mom and wife at a memorial service that will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 10:00 am at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel 7676 Shoreline Drive, Stockton, California. Following the memorial service will be a private inurnment at the Stockton Rural Cemetery, 2350 Cemetery Lane, Stockton, California.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate in Linda’s name to the Cancer Research Institute.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Dameron Hospital that took such great care and tended to our beloved Linda.
