

Manuel Z. Cazares, 85 of Stockton, CA, passed away on April 21, 2015. He was born on October 4, 1929 in Oakland, CA, to Josephina & Jesus Cazares. He and his family moved to Mexico for a short period of time, where he enjoyed playing soccer (as a teen) and honorably won medals. He then moved to Corcoran, CA, in 1950. Shortly after his move, he began working in the fields in Hanford, where he met and married the love of his life, Margarita Hernandez Cazares. After they were married, the newlyweds moved to Stockton, CA, where they started their family. Together they had 8 children, one which had passed. He and Margarita were married for 63 years. They loved each other so much, that they renewed their vows 3 times! The first being at St. Mary's Catholic Church, on their 35th anniversary; second, in the Holy Land/ Jordan River and lastly, on their 50th anniversary.
He was a hard worker and provided for his family as needed. He retired from Sierra Lumber, in which he worked 26 years as a Ripsaw Operator, in Stockton, CA.
He is preceded in death by his mother; Josephina Zavala Cazares, father; Jesus Cazares, brothers; Jesus Cazares, Jr., Maximilliano Cazares, Consuelo Cazares, sister; Amelia Aguayo, son; Daniel Cazares, Niece; Sarita Cazares and grandson; Derrick D. Busby Jr. (Pookie)
He is survived by his loving wife; Margarita H. Cazares, brothers; Ramon, Miguel & Jose Cazares, sister; Josephina Cazares, sons; Manuel H. Cazares & Roberto Cazares, daughters, Irene Garcia (Ernest), Josephine Tabios (Mark) , Margaret Cazares, Ramona Cazares-Wakeman (Timothy) Elvira Mejia (Fernando) 25 Grandchildren, 45 Great-grandchildren & 1 Great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 28th between 1-6 p.m. and a rosary to follow at 6 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel at 601 N. California St., Stockton, CA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on: Wednesday, April 29th, at 10 a.m at: St. Mary's Catholic Church, 203 Washington St., Stockton, CA and a Celebration of Life reception to follow at American Legion Ed Stewart Post at: 3110 West Lane, Stockton, CA
