Her beloved grandchildren that she loved so much, Ryan Quijalvo, Haley Quijalvo, Alyssa Casillas, and Cierra Casillas.
Marie was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. She was always the life of the party and loved with her whole heart enjoying life to the fullest! Whether she was singing her favorite Elvis Presley song, “Don’t Step on my Blue Suede Shoes," or “I'm Looking over a Four Leaf Clover," she was happy and full of joy! She loved going on bus trips with the Happy Travelers Club, attending St. Gertrude’s Bizarres, people watch at the malls, and dining at UJ’s for her all time favorite, beef tips and rice.
For many years Marie worked as a housekeeper and caretaker at Casa Mañana. She loved helping people and enjoyed brightening her clients’ day by her laughter and fun spirit. During the war, Marie worked at Stockton Box doing hard labor to help keep the company open, while the men were at War. During the Christmas holidays, Marie loved to bake and make her famous fudge to share with her friends and family. On Halloween, Marie would dress up and be the first to open the door to pass out candy to the kids. What fun!
Marie’s love for her family, joyfulness, and faith touched everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and always remembered!
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and he whispered, “Come with me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, we watched you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A Golden Heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us he chooses to take the best (author unknown).
We Love you sweet Grandma Marie!
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
