Bà Trần Thị Châu, daughter of the late Trần Tiếu and Trần Thị Lục, was born on the 10th of February, 1943, in the city of Quy Hoa, Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam.
In 1979, she gave up everything to flee the country in search of a better life. With her husband, children, and trust in God, they embarked on a journey by boat. It was a long and treacherous journey; they battled storms, hunger, and attacks by pirates, but by the grace of God, they landed on a small island in the Philippines. And from there, it led them to America. After arriving in their new home, life was not so easy, but they persevered, and through the strength of their faith, she was able to build a new life in America for her family. All this while still holding on to cultural values and traditions.
Bà Trần Thị Châu was a loving wife, a nurturing mother, and the sweetest grandmother ever. She was kind and gracious and easily made friends everywhere she went. People who encountered her were positively touched by her joy and love. Bà Trần Thị Châu was also an active and devoted member of her Catholic community, and while well, she dedicated her time to her faith by visiting seniors in assisted care. She was adored and respected by her family, peers, and neighbors, and she will be dearly missed.
