Michael John Mottet

Mike John Mottet, 58, passed away at home on Saturday, May 7, 2016 in Stockton, CA. He was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to the late James and Mary “Marcie” Mottet on September 4, 1957. He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1975. Later, he attended Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, IA and earned an Associates degree in Mechanical drafting. Mike worked for Loudens in Fairfield, IA and Everco in Ottumwa, IA. He also owned and operated Mottet’s Meat Market and JB’s Restaurant. Later, Mike worked at Harper Brush in Fairfield and in California as a Plant Manager. Later he helped start up the Ardex Americas branch in Stockton, CA as a Plant Supervisor

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Patrick and wife Tari Sisco Mottet. He is survived by his loving wife, Claudia Soberanes Mottet; children: Chasity and Ashley. Step children: Hernan, Junior, Stephanie, and Holly; siblings: Daniel of Bella Vista, Christopher of Columbus City, Jamie Martin of Columbus Junction, and Licia McAtee of Wapello. He leaves behind many people who will greatly miss him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 2pm to 6pm at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California Street, Stockton, CA 95205, 209-464-4711, with a Rosary @ 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 13, 2016 at 10am at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, 1663 E Main St, Stockton, CA 95205. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family: PO Box 746 Waukee, Iowa 50263.
