It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Narcisa Lazo Miro, who died on August 16, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton, California, at the age of 77.
Narcisa is survived by her beloved husband, Vicente Porras Miro, and their three children: Norvic, Vinnes, and Pearl Joy (Santiago). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Janessalynn, Vincent Adonis, Norvic Jr., Marivic, Elyas, Avrianna, Mattheus, Penelope, Lilliana, and Pia Jade, and greatgrandmother to Kaylee. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings: Lilia & Lading Tayag, Victoria & Manny Alcantara, Germie & Cora, George & Lynn Lazo, Loreto Jr. & Chona Lazo, Fe & Butch Lorca, Frank Lazo, and Nancy Talampas.
Narcisa was born on October 31, 1947, in Bagumbayan, Taguig City, Philippines, to Loreto Laruan Lazo and Pastora Caldoso Navarro. A bright and determined student, she graduated from Centro Escolar University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. She immigrated to the United States in the early 1970s, where she met the love of her life, Vicente. They were married on August 18, 1973, in Reno, Nevada, and built a life together in Stockton, California, where they raised their three children.
Narcisa was a devout Catholic and an active member of her church community. She was especially involved with the Legion of Mary, and her deep faith guided her throughout her life. She found great joy in traveling and participated in many religious pilgrimages across the world. Among all her journeys, Disneyland held a special place in her heart – a place she loved to visit with her family.
In 2023, Narcisa and Vicente joyfully celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, a milestone that reflected their enduring love and commitment.
Narcisa will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her strong faith and her warm, generous spirit. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great – grandmother, sister, cousin, Tita, and friend to many. Her kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
