Patricia (Pat) was born on January 18, 1918, in Lawton Oklahoma. She was endlessly devoted to her parents Braulio and Trinidad Luna Chacon. She was married to Lyman Dixon Bailie who preceded her in death on August 17, 1968, leaving her a widow for 55 years. Patricia lived a simple life with much love for her family, in fact, her family was her life. After her parents' passing she was naturally the matriarch of her large family. She was much loved and respected by her siblings.
A unique gift of Pat, she was always willing to give of herself for the greater good of her extended family. She could have easily coined the term “pay it forward” because that is how she lived her life. She made many sacrifices, including her schooling, for the greater good of the family. Pat was the only one that was asked to go to work and not return to school by her father Braulio. Vera would come home and tell Pat all the stories of the day from school. The one good thing is she did not have to walk to school in the snow. She was grateful and considerate of her parents who helped her care for her young son Peter and never forgot their generosity. When her sisters needed help with their children she willingly did so. She was a second mother to her niece and nephew, who came to live with her for several years, one as an infant and one as a toddler. She loved and nurtured them like they were her own. Her sisters were especially grateful for her willingness to give unconditionally of herself when needed. They knew they could always depend on Pat. She was much loved by her immediate and extended family.
She had the opportunity at 104 years of age to have an extended visit with her beloved sister Vera (102 y/o) in Southern California. Pat loved and cherished that time with her sister Vera. This was all made possible by her grandson, who we lovingly call Gibet, who came from Southern California to fly/accompany his grandma back to So Cal because grandma was afraid she could not endure the flight at her age. Much gratitude to cousin Cathy who made this visit possible by caring for her beloved aunt Pat and her mother, Vera. Pat was very impressed with her niece Cathy’s abilities to be able to care for them with kindness and grace. Not an easy task to care for two people over a hundred years old. Pat loved and always looked forward to her “goodies/desserts” which Cathy always made sure they had.
Patricia is survived by her children: Peter Raymond Bailie, Catherine Bailie Garcia, Maryrose Bailie Leubner, daughter-in-law Rosemary Bailie and son-in-law Charles Leubner.
