

R. Leona Inamasu, of Stockton, CA, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2014, surrounded by family and close friends. She was born on March 1, 1922 in Palo Alto, CA to Fusataro and Fusae Nakamoto.
She graduated from Santa Maria, CA High School, class of 1940. During World War II, she and her family were sent to the relocation center in Rohwer, Arkansas where she met and married Frank Inamasu. After the war, Leona and her husband owned and operated a jewelry business in Stockton.
She was a member of the Stockton Buddhist Church, Stockton JACL, and Fukuoka Nikkei Jin Kai.
Her son, Donald; daughter, Laura; daughter-in-law, Liz Vizcarra; sister, Gladys Inouye; and numerous nieces and nephews survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and son, Thomas, as well as two older brothers and four older sisters.
She was a resident at Atria Bayside Landing assisted living facility for the past three years where she loved playing Bingo and participating in the activities that were offered there.
Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Leona was a loving sister, aunt, and grandma to many. Her generosity and caring about others were widely noted, not only by her family but also friends and people who came in contact with her. She made others smile with her sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stockton Buddhist Church. Private inurnment will be held in Park View Cemetery. Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
