Raymond Lara

Raymond is survived by his wife Rita Lara, his daughters Ramona Gonzalez (Ricardo) and Virginia Cervantes (Joseph), his 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Victoria Moreno (Jose).

Raymond was born on August 7, 1939 in Merced, California to Pete Lara and Adela Alonzo. Raymond worked for Stockton Unified School District at Stagg High School and was very passionate about music. After retirement, his free time was spent playing guitar at home and with his church, St. Edward's, since he was heavily involved with the Catholic community. He was always surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren being an amazing father figure to all. With his love of music, he always found time to dance with his wife anytime he had a chance. His lively spirit will surely be missed, along with his pranks and jokes.

A Rosary is scheduled for Raymond on Thursday, March 3rd at 6:00pm at DeYoung Memorial Chapel. The Funeral will be held on Friday, March 4th at 11:00am at Saint Gertrude's Catholic Church, followed by the Burial at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
