Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Albalos Molina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She died peacefully at her home on September 30th in Stockton, CA at the age of 72 after a 2.5 year battle with metastatic lung cancer.
Rebecca was born in Caoayan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on November 23, 1950 around noon time when the church bells were ringing. She was the 5th child of Adriano Navarro Albalos and Gertrudis Queddeng Cadaoas.
Rebecca graduated cum laude from college in the city of Vigan and became a teacher, first in the college where she graduated from, then to rural public high schools. The last school she taught at was in Baguio. To this day, her students speak of the significant influence she had on their lives.
Rebecca moved to the United States in 1980 where she enrolled in Humphrey’s college and took accounting courses. Shortly after, she was employed by State Savings Bank (later American Savings and Washington Mutual) where she worked for 25 years. She would later work for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department in the office records division before she retired.
As next door neighbors in 1981, Rebecca met her husband, Rufino Molina Jr. Together they had two daughters, Julie and Amanda (Mandy), and made a life full of memories. More than anything, Rebecca loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Kairi Ann (Julie’s).
People were drawn to Rebecca’s warm, kind-hearted, and overwhelmingly generous personality. There was always room for more at her table and she loved to feed everyone her delicious home-cooked meals. She was also a creative and loved poetry, cross-stitching, singing, and writing. She was a devout Catholic. Her love of God and family remained with her and empowered her throughout her life and fight against cancer.
Rebecca is survived by her husband, Rufino Molina Jr. of Stockton, CA; children, Julie (and Anthony) Molina-Aguilar and Mandy Molina (and Maurice Powell), all of San Jose, CA; her granddaughter, Kairi Ann Molina-Aguilar of San Jose; siblings, Nestor Albalos, Zenaida Albalos, Norma Nolasco, and Aurora Reyes, of Stockton, CA, Wilfredo Albalos of Caoayan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, and Hang Pacey of Delray Beach, FL, among many other cherished family members and friends.
