

Sharon Darlene Edge, 72, of Stockton, died peacefully at home on Monday, January 16th, 2017. Sharon was born on July, 2nd, 1944. She grew up with her family in rural Stockton. Sharon graduated from Escalon High School in 1962. She was a Song Leader and was active in Pep Club, Girls Athletic Association, Glee Club and Homemakers of America. She continued her education at Stockton Junior College while employed as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Phillip Loechler, Oral Surgeon. A true beauty, Sharon was a finalist in the Miss World Pageant in 1964, winning the title of Miss Northern California. A highlight was riding with Sonny & Cher and other luminaries on a Rose Parade float. Her charm and love for life endeared her to all. She married Doug, the love of her life, on July 15th, 1967. They were looking forward to their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Sharon and her husband were self-employed. She was an active member of the Lodi Antique Club for 20 years. As her children grew, she went on to a career where she could express her love of people, style, and design working for Campbells of Stockton and retiring from Dillards. Sharon was a fan of sports cars and auto-crossed her MG in her younger days. Sharon won trophies; Doug polished them. She is survived by her husband, John Douglas Edge, children Kimberly Renee Edge Slovatizki, Michelle Lynn Edge and John David Edge, grand-daughter Megan Elizabeth Slovatizki, brother Charles Head (Nikki), Marvin Head (Lynn), step-sister Linda Morris (John) as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Mrs. Viola Adler, and her parents La Verne and Tony Arbanasin of Stockton. A memorial service will be held for Sharon on Tuesday January 24th At DeYoung Shoreline Chapel 7676 Shoreline Dr. Stockton at 3pm In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Delta Humane Society & SPCA are appreciated.
