

at the age of 91.
Wayne is survived by his wife Margaret Castle of Stockton, CA, his daughter, BethAnn Smiley (Paul) of Clovis, Ca., his son, Mark Gaff (Kellie) of Stockton, Ca., and his son, Chris Gaff (Cori) of Stevenson Ranch, Ca. Wayne is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexandria, Benjamin, Kasey, Charles, Christopher, Shannon, Shawn and Taylor and one great grandchild, Peyton Jo.
Wayne was born on April 7, 1932, in Stockton California to Beverly and Zelda Castle. He served in the United States Navy and graduated from the University of Pacific. He was a member of the Delta Pacifica Lions Club, the Manteca Historical Society, and the San Joaquin County Historical Museum.
Wayne worked for many years at Sears, before returning to his family’s farm, where he worked until it was sold in the 90’s. Most recently, he worked at the Banner Island Ballpark (home of the Stockton Ports) where he was a ticket taker for over 13 years. One of his favorite things about working at the ballpark was meeting and talking to many new people.
Wayne will be remembered for his love of family and friends and entertaining them, his comical toasts and limericks, and all his many stories about the Castle family history.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00 am on May 2, 2023, at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Dr., Stockton, CA 95219.
