every phone call, she would say. hows my grandchildren? i would talk about them often enough to say they are good mom. i would spend a few mins while the kids are yelling in the back ground. i would make sure mom would see the kids a few times without the snow. i would have to leave early from family stuff as the night time driving was too much for me. the kids would ask for a treat for the way home, breakfast bars were the thing between the kids and grandma, hugs while we leave and say goodbye to grandpa. we will miss my mom but i always say good night as i fall asleep even now that she isn't with us... i miss her so much... love your daughter 

Writing this has given me the opportunity to reflect on my sweet loving Grandma. Yes, it has taken time to write, tears have been shed. Having the honor to call Jane my grandma is a blessing all on its own.
With a smile so warm and inviting like the sun itself, hugs that felt like home, and the strength of a hundred men, our grandma was easily my favorite person.
Grandma and grandpa had an acreage that gave my cousins and I a world of wonder and exploration, from building a teepee in the “forest”, running around on an old satellite dish, getting muddy, massive games of hide and seek, climbing trees, to catching frogs. Growing up we had our personal nature playground right there in grandma’s backyard.
Education was something that grandma had always wanted us to focus on, she gave each of us an incentive to graduate high school. The incentive was once you graduate high school you get a ring with your birth stone. I remember working so hard at school, making sure I did everything possible to receive my ring. When I graduated college, I remember telling her over the phone and she cheered with pure joy.
One of my favorite memories of you grandma, was watching you and Uncle Ray dancing at one of the family camp outs at the acreage, you had beaten yet another bout of cancer just a month or so prior. I watched you both in awe, completely in love with your strength and beauty. It was so beautiful to watch a mother dancing with her son.
I may not have been given the opportunity to spend as much time with you as I would have liked, but the time we did spend together and the numerous phone calls filled with the best conversations, I will always cherish and never forget.
The angels have taken you to your throne of rest and peace, I love you to the moon, back, and beyond. 


My grandma taught me many things through out her life. How to be a wonderful parent, neighbour, friend, shoulder to lean on, and to be a kind smile in a grocery store. To speak louder so I'm heard. That even in the face of adversity you hold your head held high and walk through with a smile. my grandmother's door was always open and whatever you needed she would have on hand. Coffee was always just a button away from being on and there was never not any juice either in the fridge or it was no problem to whip one up. The freezer was always stocked with freezies and cookies and loafs were always made. A problem in her eyes was only a problem for the moment but never did it seem very long cause once it was over it was over. My grandmas love was a love that lasts forever. Family was everything to my grandma. From the family dinners to the beach days to family reunions we had it all. 
I'm gonna miss you grandma. I'm gonna miss so many things. To name just one I'm gonna miss the most I cannot do.  May your wings stretch all across the skies and your smile be in the brightest of stars. Until we meet again xoxo 😘

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss, I haven’t talked to Jane in a while, but I have though about you all often!
I will always keep you all in my prayers and think of your family,  remembering the fun we had playing canasta and the conversations we shared.

Anytime we went to see Jane for a family function , right before you would walk out the door she would say … “Oh wait, I have something for you “… then she would present a tray full of baking and always a loaf of some kind whether that be banana bread or zucchini loaf!!! 
She always wanted everyone to stay together as a family and ensure that all the kids , cousins, sons, and daughters knew each other as family! 
I will forever miss our talks on the phone but I know she is still with us listening. 

As first a next door neighbour, it didn’t take long before we we became the closest  of friends. Jane’s spunk for life and no nonsense became our inspiration for more and more conversations.  Sometimes a phone call to declare happy hour, and sometimes a yell over the fence, “are ya coming over”? 4pm quickly became a daily event that we so much enjoyed on the rocking chair in the backyard.
As I honour our friendship I try not to be sad, only happy I met you. I am proud to be your friend and you mine. Life will never be the same without you. There is a place in my heart that I keep you in. That keeps me going, and helps make my days brighter. Otherwise I would just be sad and missing you, which I am. 
I am so grateful we got to be close, It was fate I believe.

Thank you for being there and always including me.
Thank you for being you, who fought till the end.
You are a strong and beautiful woman who means the world to me, and I will always cherish.
