Loretta Joan Adams

It is with full hearts and deep sadness that Loretta Joan Adams’s family shares the news of her passing on Nov 7th, 2023, at the Westview Hospital in Stony Plain at the age of 71. Loretta had a long battle with MS and recently was diagnosed with cancer. She was the eldest child of Ernest & Pauline Larson of Boyle, AB. Loretta is survived by her husband Keith, daughter Sasha (Gary), grandson Jackson; mother Pauline; siblings Carolyn (Brian), Alvin (Karen), Beverly (Terry), Ron (Andrea), sister-in-law Donna and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her father Ernest and one brother Kenneth (Donna).

Loretta grew up on the family farm near Boyle, Alberta and in 1973 she started working for the Alberta Government as a Computer Programmer in Edmonton. Over the years as computer technology progressed, she went on to work as a Systems Analyst and then Manager at the Data Centre in Edmonton.

Loretta was full of life and enjoyed gardening, music, cooking, and sewing. She loved spending time with family and her many friends. Loretta loved to go flying with her husband Keith; they also went on many extended fishing trips up and down the west coast, from BC to Alaska. She went on ski trips with her co-workers, attended many concerts and sporting events, and especially loved curling.

Parkland Funeral Services of Stony Plain will be conducting her service at Stony Plain Heritage Park, 5100-41 Ave, on Monday, November 20th at 11:00am, followed by the burial at the Onoway Municipal Cemetery, and conclude with a luncheon at the Heritage Park.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their charity of choice in Loretta’s name.

A visitation for Loretta will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Heritage Pavillion, 5100 41 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB T7Z0B4. A funeral service will occur Monday, November 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 5100 41 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB T7Z0B4. A graveside service will occur Monday, November 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Onoway Cemetery, 54429 52 Street, Onoway, AB T0E 1V0.
