Louise Bell passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on April 4, 2026 at the age of 86. Other than moving all over western Canada in the early years of marriage with Bob’s work, Louise lived most of her life in the Onoway area until 2015 when she and Bob officially retired and moved to Spruce Grove. Trained at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, she worked as a Registered Nurse primarily in Stony Plain and Edmonton. Focused on family, she loved to host busy family events and she loved being a grandma. A generous, devoted and hardworking person, she always made the effort to volunteer her time, share her talents or give to those in need. Her smile, jovial ways and enthusiasm were infectious and left a lasting impression on all. Her boundless energy and passion for activities saw her time filled with gardening, sewing, needlework, walking, games, pets, concerts and music appreciation, travelling with Bob, visiting friends, supporting community events, volunteering for elder care and deep involvement with the Anglican church, at both St. John the Divine in Onoway and later St. Augustine’s in Spruce Grove.
Daughter of Harold and Emily Galliford, she is lovingly remembered by her son Darryl Bell (Trudy), daughter Glenna Schmidtz (Patrick); grandchildren James, Kelly, Christopher, Katie, Curtis, Olivia, Ryan, Emma, and their partners; great-grandchildren Laine, Joshua, Ashtyn, Isabella, Talyah, Bryella, Brynn, Harlow and their partners; and great-great grandchild Lily Marie; sisters-in-law Doris Spreen and Linda Hickman and numerous extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband (Robert John) Bob, of 55 years and older sister Mary Borys.
Louise’s family would like to thank the staff at Westland Family Practice Clinic, Westview Health Center and CapitalCare Lynnwood for the care she received during her recent, rapid decline in health as well as all those who visited, sent cards, flowers, thoughts and prayers.
