Martin Spreen

Martin Spreen, of Onoway, AB, passed away peacefully on June 15, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a tackle box full of memories.

Born and raised on the family farm, Martin knew the value of hard work, early mornings, and a good fishing spot.

He was married to the love of his life, Alvina, for 42 years. Together, they raised a family and created lots of special memories. His sense of humor, gentle nature and big smile left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Martin will be lovingly remebered by his wife Alvina; his children: Connie Gellhaus, Meila Spreen and Tristan Spreen; his grandchildren: Brodie, Waylon, Scarlett, Brett, Sara, Enya and Darcy as well as numerous other family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Martin was predeceased by his parents George and Hilda, his son Kalan and his best friend Ken.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025 at 1PM at the Spreen Family Farm, 1524 Township Road 544, Lac Ste. Anne County.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you honour Martin in a way that would’ve made him smile: spend a day fishing, try your hand at gold panning or enjoy your favorite candy.
