EROS, Peter Paul
1937 – 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Eros, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to many.
Peter was predeceased by his cherished wife Gloria, parents Steve and Rose Eros, brother George, sister Marie and son-in-law John.
He leaves behind 4 children; Cindy (Earl), Pat (John), Ken (Heather) and Donna; 5 grandchildren: Nancy, Samantha, Rachel, Amanda and Dale and his 3 great-grandchildren Zoey, Laura and Claire.
Peter was born in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan and was raised on the family farm just a few minutes southeast of town. He met Gloria at a local dance and the rest is history. They married on July 17, 1959, and started their family shortly after. Peter worked on many projects, as a heavy-duty mechanic, which took him and his family from places in BC and Ontario.
In the early 1970’s the family settled in Stony Plain, Alberta where they bought their first acreage. Around this time Peter started his own company which he affectionately called “Little Erros”. Peter helped the local farmers in the area and eventually landed a contract with TransAlta until he retired.
In the 1990’s Peter and Gloria bought a cattle farm west of Onoway, Alberta. Peter loved having the cattle and you would often see him sitting on the back of his truck, in the middle of the pasture, watching his cows roam with great pride. They owned this farm until Gloria’s passing in 1999.
Peter sold the farm after Gloria’s passing and bought a second farm. Peter and his son Ken worked the farm for a few years. During this time Peter met his second wife Nina in Spruce Grove, Alberta until their separation.
During the final chapter of his life, Peter chose to live in the beautiful community of Meridian Meadows in Stony Plain, where he resided until his passing.
To honor Peter’s wishes, there will be no service. However, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Misericordia Hospital in Peter’s honor.
