Rudolph Eugene Baron

April 11, 1932 – December 26, 2023

It is with deep sorrow the Baron Family announce the passing of beloved father and grandfather, Rudy at the age of 91 on December 26, 2023.

Rudy was born and raised on a farm near Stony Plain, Alberta. He married Cleon Schoepp on November 25, 1960 and they had three boys and a girl. He worked on the Alberta Department of Highways Maintenance Crew in Stony Plain. Rudy had many interests; he enjoyed singing, playing guitar and harmonica, dancing, curling, playing cards, pool, snooker and tinkering in his garage. We will all miss his laugh, quick wit and stories of a life well lived.

Rudy is survived by his children, Darrel (Brenda), Kevin, Stan and Tracy, two grandchildren Randy and Alex Pake, his sister, Helen Engelhardt, and numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his wife, Cleon, parents, Adam and Anna (nee Theuss) Baron, brothers, Valentine, William, Otto, George, Herold, Emil, and sisters, Olga Seeley, Bertha McDonald, Julia Vest.

Funeral will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Stony Plain on January 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with the internment of Rudy and Cleon to follow. The family ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
