

Sheilah Maureen Ireland, nee Toner, beloved wife of Wayne Ireland, passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2026, at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
Sheilah was born in Vermilion, Alberta on September 21, 1940. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wayne, her children, Murray (Monika) and Claire (Marty), her grandchildren, Kody (Megan), Quintin (Nancy), Kelton (Kelsi), Meghan (Jake ), Laura (Cole) and her much loved great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Felix, Aylah, Rylynn, and Beau with another to be welcomed in July.
Sheilah is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as cousins in Ireland. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Ellen Toner, her infant son John; grandson Justin; brothers, Pat, John, Alphonse and Peter; sisters, Rose, Elizabeth, Eileen, Bridget, Teresa, Alice, and Frances.
Sheilah lived a full life raising a family, working at the Lakeland College in Vermilion. She then ventured into the business world owning and operating the three very successful Irish Import Store - "Shops of Ireland".
Her greatest joy was found in the smiles and laughter of children. With a loving heart, she made each child feel special and embraced them as her own, ensuring they always knew they belonged and were part of her family. Sheilah shared her time and gifts generously.
She enjoyed traveling, with Ireland forever home in her heart. In her retirement, she found great joy in Sun City Festival, Arizona and at Laurier Lake. In Arizona, she created a community of dear friends who became like family, in a home she loved deeply. At the lake, her door was always open, welcoming family and friends alike. When you entered any of her homes, you always felt welcomed and guaranteed you were offered something to eat and a cup of tea.

T7V 4K2 Recreation Department Cheques can be made to Copper Sky Seniors Community Partnership. Copper Sky was her home since May 2023. Sheilah was well-loved and cared for and brought the residents and staff joy with her singing and dancing.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday April 27, 2026, 11:00 a.m., Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 200 Veterans Blvd, Spruce Grove, AB T7X 3A5. The funeral will be livestreamed.The Livestream button will be found under Sheilah's obituary at Parklandfuneralservices/Dignitymemorial.com.
