It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of Shirley Saunders of Stony Plain AB. Shirley passed away on February 12, 2024, at the age of 75, surrounded by family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Shirley is predeceased by her parents Bridget and James, her sisters Barbara and Susan and her beloved husband Bill. Shirley leaves behind her children Crystal (Mark), Michael (Danielle), Angie (Darren), her grandchildren, Austin, Sydney, and Connor, and many relatives and friends.
Shirley was born on May 11, 1948, and grew up in Northern Alberta. She met Bill in Fairview, married in 1973 and settled in Stony Plain to raise her family. Shirley worked in the casino industry for most of her life. Shirley loved to laugh and share her smile, she loved to play video games and to watch TV and loved to gather with the family over a bonfire and wiener roast.
